The Cathedral of Puebla


Today, we are going to talk about the cathedral of Puebla.
In Puebla, there are some places that you have to visit. Some one is The Cathedral of Puebla. Here is it history.
Puebla Cathedral was built at different times. It began in 1575 led by the architect Francisco Becerra. Its construction was slow and costly for the year 1640 the building had been erected just the walls and the construction stopped. The work is restart in 1649 and continued for the next two centuries. In 1678 it ended the north tower of the church and in 1768 the south tower was finished. The organs were donated by Charles V and the altarpiece of the Kings was built in 1652 by sculptor Lucas Mendez. After the construction of the Cathedral of Puebla was dedicated to the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception. Most notable of its construction are the two towers, its spacious interior, and its vaults with side chapels which are altarpieces and paintings of the Baroque era. Another unforgettable beauty of this cathedral is the altar, or better known as the Altar of the Kings which houses a mural on oil of Cristobal de Villalpando. Here are the remains of the bishops poblanos.
The sacristy is also of great interest because it contains a wealth of eighteenth-century Baroque paintings.
