Machu Picchu


Machu Picchu is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. It is located in Peru on on the highest part of mountain in the Urubamba Valley. This place was Created as a historical park on on 8th January 1981.

The park was established to protect the landscape of the Macchu Picchu archaeological site, founded by the Inca culture. It is thought that Machu Picchu had an area for collecting coca from surrounding plantations. The site eventually fell into ruin, was covered by the forest, and “lost to science” until re-discovery in 1911.


In the middle of the 1980s, some 180,000 people annually visited the Inca Trail and the ruins. More recently, the figure has risen to 300,000. Now a day, the tourism area counts with hotel and camping facilities. A museum exists at the ruins and there are plans to develop the area further for tourism.







Travelling to Machu Picchu
There are different ways to visit Machu Picchu:
1) On foot, along the Inca Trail which is the most interesting alternative
2) By train from the city of Cuzco to Aguas Calientes
3) By helicopter from the Cuzco airport to Aguas Calientes.


Machu Picchu it's one of the most beautiful and interesting historical places to visit. So if you have a chance to do it, don´t lose it.

Independence Day in Mexico










The next year, 2010, we will celebrate the Bicentennial of the Independence of Mexico, so it's a good excuse to go out from our state and know the most important places where the independence movement took place.
Traveling, you can learn everything about the city that you visit and it´s a good way to appreciate the cultural and natural heritage of our country.
You could visit the state of Hidalgo because here, you can find the most important places where Miguel Hidalgo, Allende, Aldama, Jiménez and their troop walked to arrive to the Unites States to buy arms and mount an offensive that never came.
In Hidalgo, you can visit some of the “Haciendas de Hidalgo” like: Hacienda Santa Maria Tecajete , Hacienda San Antonio Tochatlaco, Hacienda de Tetlapayac , Hacienda de Tepa Chico, Hacienda Chimalpa, Hacienda San Juan Hueyapan, etc.
The haciendas from the XVIII and XIX centuries give the impression of being enormous fortresses, with their high ells, battlements, towers, chapels and bell towers, their facades decorated with Talavera mosaic.
Also, you can camp, ride horses, fish, go cycling, etc in the Mountain Corridor. On the other hand, if you like the adventure, you can visit The Basaltic Prisms that is a big and beautiful waterfall that plunges over the prismatic formations.
Other important place to visit is the Archeological Zone of Tula, where you can find, the most legendary pre-Hispanic city and the seat of the Toltec culture. In this zone, you will see the famous Atlante pyramid where there are a lot of formidable stone column of almost 5 meters of height called Atlantes.
As you see, there are a lot of places that you can visit in Hidalgo, so decide yourself to visit this beautiful place and enjoy it with your family or friends.

Cuetzalan, Puebla

We are closer that the independence day, so i recommended to leave the school and go to celebrate to some differents places in Puebla, here is some example:
Cuetzalan:
A point to reach Cuetzalan, you will find signs indicating the arrival of a magical town settled in the Sierra Madre Oriental. The cobbled streets are welcoming and a dozen kids who crowd into the windshields of cars to take the newcomer to hotels, inns and restaurants to eat.
Located at 900 meters above sea level, Cuetzalan traps moisture from the Gulf of Mexico that allows the cultivation of bananas and coffee, the latter so important in the development of the village for over 50 years is chosen Coffee Queen. visit the church of San Francisco, Renaissance style. The interior features a Virgin Mary with the regional indigenous dress, a wool skirt tied at the waist by a girdle fabric.
In the courtyard, stands the mast of the Flying men descended bird calls, especially during the feast held the first seven days of October. In the areas adjacent to rivers flowing Cuetzalan there in the mountains forming several waterfalls as The winds of 30 meters, there are caves that can be visited as Adventure and Chivóztoc.
